Hands down L.A. Cotton's best book to date! Deliciously angsty, tantalizingly forbidden, and vibrating with rich emotional complexity- I could not put this sexy and heartfelt love story down! I am so in love with everything about Peyton and Xander.I am a bit of an age gap junkie- it’s my favorite trope, and LA beautifully and deliciously highlights the forbidden and taboo aspect here with the titillating thrall of the illicit student-teacher dynamic. It’s yummy and complicated and so very angsty. But what I loved most about this book is the emotional dynamic between Peyton and Xander. They have plenty of push- dynamics keeping them apart- but the pull comes down to their shared grief- how their broken souls understand each other in ways that no one else who loves them truly can. Two people who learn to embrace their scars, love them even, because they see parts of themselves in the other.“The strongest glass usually shatters the most.” Oh sweet Peyton- she’s so strong, and so shattered. I love Peyton so fiercely. The vibrant, energetic and joyful girl we met has lost herself after tragedy. The first thing is i have to admit is i am not a huge fan of age gap romances and i haven’t read a lot of them but when, one of your favourite author writes one you just get in there and read it.I really loved this storyline of this book and getting glimpses of Peyton in the first book there was going to be so much going on with her and what she goes through and she was so broken but i loved how feisty and strong she was. Xander was a very similar character broken and the reasons are heartbreaking.I love how the parents have such big roles in these books especially Jase i feel we got another side to him and just made me fall in live with him all over again, but i just love how we get that gang in this next generation booksThis book really had it all it was emotional angsty taboo and like i said had a great storyline. I really liked this book and it was a perfect book in this series and for the extra tid but we got i am super excited for the next book and who they are about and that ending was freaking crazy.If your a fan of L.A Cotton and this series you won’t be disappointed and if you haven’t read her yet go and start with the Rixon Raiders series it’s awesome.
